Description:

The main weak point of 02M and 02Q gearboxes is the 4th gear. Under high torque conditions – especially with tuned engines – the input shaft begins to vibrate and flex. As a result, it can be pushed away from the opposing shafts, leading to misalignment of the 4th gear teeth. This causes partial engagement or even gear tooth breakage.

Our external 4th gear support is a proven mechanical solution. It uses a precisely machined aluminum housing that bolts onto the outside of the gearbox. A brass pressure pin with an adjustment screw holds the input shaft in its optimal position – preventing flex and maintaining proper gear mesh, even under extreme load.
